VERNON CAREY FOUNDATION SEVENTH ANNUAL CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

Former Miami Dolphins Offensive Linemen Vernon Carey hosted the Seventh Annual Vernon Carey Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament on April 8th at Weston Hills Country Club. Over 20 Current and Former Professional Football Players including Mike Pouncey, Koa Misi, Juwan James, John Denney Ricky Williams, Jason Taylor, Fred Taylor and other community leaders joined Carey to golf with participants. Sponsors include Beam Suntory, Coastal Wine and Spirits, Diageo and Pernod Ricard. The first place team of Jeremy Brooks and James Carey won $400 to dine at Johnny V on Las Olas. Participants enjoyed raffles, auctions and food on the golf course provided by Hooters and Williams BBQ.

The Vernon Carey Foundation creates programs and provides support to encourage the improvement of our youth. These programs are designed to enhance educational and recreational development and economic opportunities within the community. Money raised from the Tournament will fund the Foundation’s Programs including the Vernon Carey Foundation “One-Step to a Brighter Future” Mentoring Program with Miami-Dade and Broward County Public Middle Schools, Back to School Event, Thanksgiving Meal Giveaway, Holiday Mall Shopping Spree and additional charitable contributions to Youth Athletics and Education.
